BRITAIN'S DEATH ROLL.

A cablegram from the High Commissioner states that the present influenza wave in Britain is. .developing. Returns for the week ended February 22 show that the number of deaths in ninety-six great towns had been 3046, against 1863. for the previous week. London's total was 653, compared' with 273 in the -previous- week. ' sufferers, although not immune,' aire afforded a certain amount of protection.
