THE WEATHER.
Fine weather, with a cool southerly bre&ze, prevailed to-day. The maximum temperature recorded at the Ashburton weather station was 57 degrees- *' in the shade. Tho Dominion Meteorologist s torecast to-day was as follows: —The indications are for westerly winds, moderate to strong, with temporary-' southerly tendency. The weather will probably prove squally and changeable, with increasing haze and cloudiness. The barometer has a rising tendency,, but falling shortly.
