LOSS OF THE TRIUMPH.
SUNK BY A GERMAN SUBMARINE.
AMSTERDAM?, .May 27. A Turkish official report states that the Triumph on Tuesday at midday passed slowly before Ari Burnu, a;> companied by two torpedo boats uiic! the battleship Vengeance. The Tyuo was'neax by with some destroyers. If was evident that the Triumph intended to bombard the trenches. A German submarine approached unnoticed. A torpedo struck the Triumph amidships. She listed until her upper dock touched the water, and capsized nine minutes later, and floated keel upwards for 20 minutes. -Destroyers saved the orew, who rr.shed on deck. The Turkish artillery with shrapnel could easily' have blown, up the 'rescuing boats, but their feelings of humanity, caused them not to hinder the ■rescue. .The submarine escaped undamaged.
