VALUABLE SHIPMENT FOB NEW ZEALAND. According to London advices on© of the best lots of Clydesdales which has ever left Great Britain for New Zealand was shipped from Scotland towards the end of October to the order of Messrs Wright, i Stephenson and Co., of Dunedin. Report has it that m Dunure Thomas the New Zealand firm :i topk away about the biggest two-year-old which the Old Country country could produce. His sire is Montrose Prince (11834), and he is out of a dam by the renowned Hiawatha (10067), which on four, different occasions; carried off; the blue ribbon of the Clydesdale world—the Cawdor Cup. Dunure Thomas, it is stated, has size and substance which can be equalled by very tow Shires, and his quality of bone, movement, and style are said to leave nothing to be desired. He is stated to bo just the sort of horse which will be a credit to the breed at the outset of the New Zealand Clydesdale Horse Society of New Zealand. Half a dozen mares and fillies are included m the shipment. Ono of them is the seven-year-old Etta, the dam of Royal Marcellus, which made the record price for his ago m New Zealand. A second mare is a daughter of the great breeding horse Baron Mitchell (10688), and going back on the female side to the great Merry ton Prince of Wales (673). Then conies Peerless, a three-year-old daughter of Mr James Kilpatrick's Craigie Mairs prize-winning horse Perfect Motion (13123). This mare has been most successful m gaining distinction in'several important shows in] Scotland. Mr J. W. Blair gets a two-year-old, which has been named High Mark. He is said to be a typical specimen of the breed, with plenty of. size and beautiful sietion. ••■ A. great, handsome yearling colt is now owned by Mr Peter Gordon. He 1 is a grandson of the famous breeding horse Royal Favourite (10630), the sire of not a few winners of the Highland and Agricultural Society's Show, and out of a mare by Prince Harold (9979). This is a colt with great flat bones, the best of broad open feet, and close true action m front and behind. It is stated that he gives every promise/of growing into a big, stybßh torso of the finest class. To Mr MeTeair m the North Island, has been sniped a mare named Silver Princess, aired' bv-the Seabam Harbour one-thonsaml-guinea horse Silver Cup which was three times first at the .5 owsofthe Highlaf and AgnculW Soeietv and thrice at the shows of the .■^^Agricultural Society ot Eng-

land. Her dam is by the .well-known and popular premium horse Montratie Marquis. Silver Princess has been twice first m her class, and stood reserve 'for 'the championship of the show of tlio Royal Agricultural Society of England, while she has been most successful as a prize-winner at distant shows. She is believed to be m foal to the well-known Cawd'or Cup champion Bonnie Buclyvie (14032), one of the most famous sons of the great breeding horse. Baron of Bucklyvie (11263)."
