Longbeach Road Boad.

The usual monthly meeting of the Longr beach Road Board took place this morning. Present—Messrs J . C. N. Grigg (chairman)j G. W. Body, and Jas. Stoddart. An apology for absence was received from Mr W. T. LiU. COCKSFOOT. The Chairman a letter from the Government Insuvanpe Bepavfcment, drawing attention to the facilities offered fpr the insurance of employees against accident. INSURING EMPLOYEES. The Secretary reported that Messrs Brifctain and Muir had tendered for taking cocksfoot off the Board's roads at from -£d told per lb. The Secretary stated that an insurance poliGy for had been obtained through Messrs Friedlander Bros,, Ltd, It was decided to reply stating that the Board had already insured. surveyor's report. In regard to the Terrace Road, it was reported that there was practically no £caffic on this road with the exception of some fifteen chains fcefcwe§n the River Road and Wilson's'corrieiv 'No iaimediate repairs were considered necessary. ,, ■''• < There was a large amount of vegetation oi£ the Beach Road, and it was suggested that it should be ploughed up.—The Board decided to do nothing iv jbhis direction at prgsant. In discussion on the year-'s expenditure, the Secretary pointed out chat a large amouat had been spant on shingling. It was reported that repairs to the ford at Winslow were being made. Mr Stoddart brought up the matter of repairs to the Boundary and Winslow railway roads. He thought they both required regraling , , especially that portion of the railwxy road between' and *•■>.} Mv Body desired to point out that the Swamp Eoad whs afc present in such a stale as to be dangerous to traffic, and should bo regraied at once. It was decided, on the motion of the Chair oian, to attend to the Swamp Road as soon a? the work of the Winslow foi'd wss finishei. CAMPORNIAN THISTLE.
