Wellington, N.Z., October 27th, 1902. Me Lane.—Dear Sir, # I fesl it my duty to let you know: what your Einulgion, and fresh air. h&i done for me. Twelve months &ro las tSeptenlber I. was so ill with.my lungs that I had to go into the Wellington Hospital. I had been under the care of five (5) different doctors, who said my case was one of consumption. I was told that my only chance was to go either to the "Blue Mountains" or the hospital. After being iv the hospital six (t>) weeks I returned home somewhat relieved, but not ouzed. I had a very aasty, hacking, hollow cough, and was frequently spitting blood. Owing to the coughing being so bad at night, morphia tablets were ordered to enable me to sleep a little at night. M) flesh was gradually, but surely leaving my body, and I was getting weaker and weaker, and was tired all the time. In April of this year (1902) I commenced taking through reading your little book, which was put under the door. The doctor who was attending me said I was doing right, and advised me to continue with it. I think he said this just to pjoase mo as much as anything. At this time my Btomach was so weak, and my digestion so poor that I qould hardly retain the Emulsion, but by persistent efforts it gradually strengthened my digestive organs, and after, a whilo I had no difficulty in keeping it down. It must have been a month or six (6) weeks before I could tell there was any improvement. In fact, I was begiuuing to lose hope of your Emulsion doing me good. : . Reading the testimonials from tima to time thoy induced me to continue.© Tha testimonial of Trooper On, and his statement about how ho regained his health through being persistent with the Emulsion gave me fresh hope. lam now so thanfeful I -was persistent, It was about thia ti:ue that an improvement began to bo noticeable The couching was still very bad, and the bleeding had not entirely stopped, } but there was a kiul of feoiing that I i was getting a little better strength,This helped me on, and gave me fresh hope that I might still be well again. Bight up to now, seven months later, . I have kept on taking the Emulsion. At first oue bottle each week, then two. and as I got stronger the dose was increased. For tho past two (2) mouths I have been taking three (3 bottles each week. I aai now on my forty-fourth (II) bottle. It lias Wn £ money well spent. Line's Emulsion, fre3h aa- u.iid parsistaiicy have given mo a new lease of life. £* Last February my weight was 8 stone 6 pounds. J3y April I had docre^ed to 7 stone. Since then I j have gradually incrnased and have [ now gained 10' pounds. Last Feb- jj'' ruary and March I was quite uuwlrto' 1 to walk but a few paces, the leant ? exertion, w-ntkl tixn mo very-' much-. I Now-October—l can, and <lo', walk Sj quite live 6) miles each fine day. X • The walk I usually fcika is from my | house, round the Patent Slip, through | Kiltiuruie, on to Ivuvrtown, :«i,i lionio | again. This walk is now no trouble f to me. Just previous to taking the 1 Emulsion, my doctor said he could do §S no more for me. N"mv I cati s>iu'sr my old songs as wc!l as ever I did, showing | my lungs aye strong-nnd sound: \ j As further proof thai my case wist \ one o!i oou.-vumpriou, I was rep.">rw,l to i the Healtli Officers who visited, tho \ housa iv which I was living, and-the vj SRiit me a circular issued by the' Government, giving instructions as to | the care of consumptives. < " 5 am quits certain that my re- \ "turn to health and strength is " solely rfae to LAKE'S Eft?ULSiON "and fresh air.". . i Very greatfully and thankfully yours, j • Signed) NELLY NIGHTINGALE |
