They expressed the hope that only those butters will ba imported which were provided with a certificate of origin, on thit contained a high proportion of fatty acids.

A Disorderly Mining Meeting An uproarious meeting of shareholder 8 in the Associated Northern Blocks Mining Company, Kalgoorlie, has been held, lasting three hour*. Mr Doolette, the chairman, declared it was impossible to work with London, a director and ex chairman of the Company, who stigmatised his fellow directors as scoundrels and liars. The Board oouited inquiry by an independent committee which was nominated, a poll to be taken six weeks hence, thus allowing Australian proxies to arrive. Mr Landau violently attacked the Board and denied manipulating the market or using private information from the mine for speculative purposes. He doclared there was no valid reason for his removal from the directorate. A very hentad discussion followed and great confusion. Sydney, Sept. 11 Obituary—Lieutenant Drummond, of the warship Wallaroo, from pneumonia. Death from Gas Fumes. Three men occupying a bedroom at Miller's Point were overcome by the fumes from an escape of gap. One man named Sorenson is dead; the others are in a critical state.
Plague. Bbisbank, Sept 11 A Chinaman living in Fortirude Valley, has been found suffering from plague. The Health Officer regards it as a sporadic case, such as is nearly always found at tho end of the epidemic. No plague rats have been found since June Bth.
