THE A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

! TO THE BDITOB. I Sm, —If your report of the finding of the i Finance Committee is correct, I have simply to say that ao far as I am concerned it is absolutely untrue, and a more unjust enquiry has never been recorded in the history of Aahburton. Two of the Committee set up to enquire into the matter were the very | persona who have made all the disturbance, and having unwarrantably dragged me into the affair have by their position on the ! Society attempted to make a scapegoat of me. I deny in toto that I have made any statement which Z cannot substantiate. And what is more, I positively deny that I made any statement at all, as represented. The Committee, the majority of which were interested parties, aai. in judgment on their own actions, excluded the press, allowed the 1 Secrecary, Mr Simpson, the injured party, to take the records of the proceedings, and notwithstanding that I protested again and again against the unfair composition of the Committee, and the exclusion of the Press, pot one word has been reported on the matter. Could unfairness go further? .1 challenge the Committee to report its full proceedings, or to substantiate its verdict, before any impartial tribunal. And in order that the public may know who are to blame in this matter I have appealed to the President of the Association to have this matter sifted to the very bottom in the meantime. —I am, etc., W. H. Collins.
