BATTLE NEAR HASHEEN.

Accounts a<e to hand of a battle which took place yesterday, in the neighborhood of Hasheen, with the rebels, under Osman Digna, in which the British were victorious at all points. The latter's loss is given at twenty-two killed and forty-four wounded, London, March 21.

General Graham telegraphs to the War Office from Souakim that he yesterday cleared the hills around Hasueen of rebels, after severe fighting. The enemy numbered 4000, aud suffered heavy loss. After the battle they retired to Tamai. General Graham further stated that a zareba, had been formed at Hasheen, with tho Surrey Regiment and a battery of artillery, with six guns, as a garrison ; the remainder of the troops returned to camp.

In the House of Commons, to-day, | the Hon Evelyn Ashley, Under Secretary for Colonies, announced that "Government had received information from the Cape, that Colonel Warren has succeeded in affecting a settlement of the native difficulty in Hellaland, and is hopeful that he would be able to arrive at a pacific arrangement of affairs in the land of Goshen, Beebuanaland.
