"THE MIRACLE."

Oil Thursday, at His Majesty's Theatre, there will take place the first screening in Wanganui of a 6000 ft pictorial reproduction of Professor Max Reinhardt's wordless, religious, mystery play, "The Miracle," or "It was a Dream." The presentation is made by arrangement with Mr. Beaumont Smith, who owns the Australasian rights. At Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, and at Olympia. London, the success achieved by "The Miracle" was of a sensational order. It opened there on1 20t<h December, 1913. and is still running in that city. When the play was first acted at Olympia, London, by living iactors and actresses, thousands are stated to have been concerned, in the cast. Its magnitude made it impossible for touring purposes, but this difficulty was overcome by having the entire work done in motion photography. All Humperdinck's specially written music was retained, and in its new guise it was screened at Covent Garden vrifoh results that, ar© said to have challenged comparison with the Olympia production. Choirs, and choristers will add. to the realism of the screening! and the orchestra has been augmented. Special stago scentery, depicting a large cathedral, which is used in connection with the representation, creates the proper atmosphere. Box plans for the season will open at the Dresden at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
