Dumphreys( Unionist Tariff Reformer) 4278 S. H. Hughes (Liberal) "3291 Dr Saltsr (Socialist) 1435 Opposition papers are jubilant, believing that Bermondsey is an index constituency, always swinging in sympathy with national feeling.
The " Chronicle" declares that the result illustrates l\he failure 'of the British;representative'system and the need of electoral reform.
