KILLED BY IMAGINATION.
A FANCIED POISONING. Miss Belle Herritt, a young schoolteacher living at Cincinnati, recently lost her posb through ill-health. She became very despondent, and' frequently declared she was tired of life. While , walking with her brother a few days ago\ she suddenly took a bottle from her pocket and drank the contents. She immediately begged to be taken to a dector, saying sha had swallowed carbolic acid, 'but repented, and wanted to live. Physicians were summoned quickly, but, despite their efforts, the girl sank rapidly, and died. The coroner found the bottla of acid coriced and untouched, and no trace of poison in the body. He said that the girl evidently had two bottles, one containing some harmless mixture, which she had swallowed by mistake for the carbolic acid. .Believing she' had swallowed poison, she simply died from the oom'binedi effects of fright and imagination. •
