The Levin correspondent of the Shannon Farmer writes:— All aloDg tbe road line the eeti-lers on the village settlement are raising homes, where a year ago the bush reigned Bupreme, and from the way clearing is going on the owners of these frontage' sections hate evidently confidence in their bargains, and have made up their minds to stay. The back blocks, although hidden by some still standing bush, are also being cleared. Some ara already occupied, and others only awaiting tho event of the season's burn before being occupied also. On the cleared Wereroa Estate every vißit reveals some now residence ia course of building, and on several sections where no residonce ia at present required the plough is taking the lead and preparing the land for cultivation or tree plaating.
