WOOLSTON TOWN BOARD.
: ♦ The ordinary meeting of this Board was held last week; present— Messrs Tickner, Coles, M'Diarmid, Attwood, York, and J. H. Hopkinß (Chairman). Mr Hopkinß roported that Mr W. Anderson's tender had been accepted for supply of dog collars for the year. — Resolved — "That the fee for registration of dogs be 10a."— The subCommittee, appointed to re-name streets, ko., within town district, handed in report, which was carried and adopted. The Ferry road, from Hargood's road to the swing bridge, will be henceforth called Regent street ; the Cemetery road, Princess street, and the terrace, from Mardon's Btreet to Barton street, Victoria terrace. All thoroughfares or lane3 in the district are to be called Btreets.— A letter was received from Mr G. Bonnington, offering to contribute the sum of £6 towards the cost of concreting east 'side of Mardon's street. The offor was accepted, and the Works Committee requested to call for tenders for the work. — Resolved — "That, owing to no assistance being offered by the residents in contributing towardß the cost of concreting side-channels, the matter of concreting this Btreet be abandoned for the present; that, providing the ratepayers fronting the main road, from Mardon's Btreet to steam wharf, south side, contribute one-fourth of the cost of concreting side-channels, the Board will undertake to have same done." — A letter was received from J. Sporty, Property Tax Commissioner, Wellington, instructing the Clerk to make corrections in the rate roll. — Froni J. H. Baker, Commissioner Crown Lands, Christohurch, re reserves at swing bridge. — The Clerk was instructed to write to the police, calling their attention to a nuisance existing, caused by a dead horse on Mr Kennaway's land, opposite the racecourse. — Mr J. H. Hopkins, on behalf of Finance Com- | mittee, reported— receipts, £36 14s 8d -, expenditure, £26 ss ; credit balance, £108 0s 9d. — Resolved — " That the resolution as , to the Board's meetings being held fortnightly be hereby rescinded, and that the Board meet in future every four weeks, at 7.30 p.m." — After passing accounts amounting to £28 10b 2d, the meeting ended.
