' The Private Secretary.'
Mr Frank Thornton, the popular comedian, is now on his way to Auckland, after an absence of four years. He comes here UDder the management of Messrs Broach and Boucicault, and the opening performance is fixed for Monday, the 17th (St. Patrick's night), when the ' Private Secretary ' will be staged. The company have won golden opinions throughout their New Zealand tour, and the Southern Press, without exception, speaks in terms of the highest prai3e of all connected with the above. Frank Thornton's impersonation of the Rev. Robert Spalding is quite fresh in the minds of the Auckland public, and his reappearance will be eagerly looked forward to. Mr Underwood is the touring manager, and so faithfully has he performed his work that bumper houses may be anticipated. The prices are the same as usual.
