KAUKAPAKAPA.

A most enjoyable concert and dance were held in the Central Hall on the 14th inst., to celebrate the completion of that building. There was a very large attendance, and if the weather had only been a little more favourable, it would have been greater still. The concert passed off most satisfactorily, most of the items being encored. Miss Lewis, Miss Rimmer, and Mr F. Dye deserve Bpecial mention for their items, which were undoubtedly the best of the evening. About 40 coupl«s prolonged the dance, until " daylight did appear," all agreeing that they had spent a most enjoyable evening. The honour of belle was generally awarded to Miss Kelly, of Newmarket, with Miss Sinclair a very close second.

About the computer-generated text

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a process for automatically extracting text from scanned pages. OCR enables searching of large quantities of full-text data, but it is not 100% accurate. The level of accuracy depends on the print quality of the original newspaper and its condition at the time of microfilming. Newspapers with poor quality paper, small print, mixed fonts, multiple column layouts or damaged pages may have poor OCR accuracy.

The page where this item appears has an estimated OCR accuracy of 94.32%.
