HOCKEY.
The annual meeting of the Rodney Hockey Association was held at Matakana on Wednesday, July sth. Prospects for the forthcoming season are particularly bright and show that the game is steadily gaining ground in the County. With seven men's teams competing for the Civil Bros. Cup, the selectors should be able to choose a strong representative team to defend the While Horse Cup and Rodney-Waipa Shield which our re^s. won last year, patches will commence on April 29th, and the following is the draw for the first round : —
