Croquet Club Presentation.

A presentation was made on the croquet lawn on Saturday afternoon to Mrs S. Smith, who has just retired from the position of secretary to the Warkworth Croquet Club, a post which she has held for five years. Mrs W. Hamilton, president of the Croquet Club, made the presentation on behalf of the Club, and in doing so voiced the keen appreciation of members for the thorough manner in which Mrs Smith had carried out the duties of secretary, much of the success of the Club being due to her untiring efforts. The presentation consisted of two vases and trinket box of beautiful brass ware. Mrs Smith feelingly thanked all for their kindly present and good wishes, and hoped that the members woufd have every success in the future of the Club.

About the computer-generated text

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a process for automatically extracting text from scanned pages. OCR enables searching of large quantities of full-text data, but it is not 100% accurate. The level of accuracy depends on the print quality of the original newspaper and its condition at the time of microfilming. Newspapers with poor quality paper, small print, mixed fonts, multiple column layouts or damaged pages may have poor OCR accuracy.

The page where this item appears has an estimated OCR accuracy of 97.59%.
