MRS GEORGE SCANDRETT.
It is ■with extreme sorrow we record the sudden death of Mrs George Scandrett, Kingsland, late of Mullet Point, who passed away on May 24th. Mrs Seandrefi, formerly. Miss Dillon, was born in Lurgan, North of Ireland, and with two sisters came out to New Zealand in the ship "Blue Jacket" about 186*2, meeting her future husband on the boat and was married at Kawau two years later, coming to Mullet Point a bride. She with her husband started farming and with continued hard toil built up a fine home, rearing a large family.. Just over six years ago Mr and Mr Soandrett retired to Auckland, where they intended to spend their days of decline in rest and comfort. During the last year deceased's health had not been good, but the end came very suddenly, and was a great shock to all the family, and friends, She leaves behind her" husband, three sons and four daughters her daughter Helena having predeceased her by two year 3. The eldest son Hector lives at Kingsland, Thomas Henry retains the old home at Mullet Point' George the youngest of family is a police officer stationed atMiddlemarch Otago. Of the daughters, Mrs Newman the eldest, resides at Glenfield, | Birkenhead, Mrs Balls at Manurewa, j Mrs Taylor at Eotorua, and Mrs Goldswortky with her father at Kingsland, j and there are twenty-three grand- j children. - !
