CREAM CARTING.

'The carting of cream for the Matakaua factory commenced from Leigh on Monday 9th, and from Pakiri on Wednesday 11th, being run at present every second day. The carriers are the same as last season, namely :— A. Grayatt from Pakiri to Leigh, and C. Dunning the connecting1 service from Leigh to Matakana. The roads this year are particularly bad on both sections and but little hauling can be done for some time -yet. The much-discussed Leigh wharf has at last been commenced, both timber and earth works being in progress.
