Two large parchment volumes will be !■ ?T e ay in a shrine to form part of the, British memorial at Ypres, where they will be accessible to all pilgrims. ' One will bo a register of those who fought and died hi the defence of Ypresthe other will be a "Roll of Veterans" of the salient. This is one of the objects of the Ypres League, of which Colonel Beckles Willson is the founder and honorary secretary. "Historians spe?k of Ypres as the gate-, way to Calais, and the soldiers who served before Ypres were the 'warders of the gate,'" said Colonel Beckles Willson. "A preliminary plan of tho memorial belfry advocated- by Lord Rawlinsort is being drawn up for exhibition. A belfry is particularly appropriate in Belgium, and evades all religious and denominational difficulties."
