AT TITFi TOMB OF A NOTED CHIEF.

NUHAKA, this day.. - The memorial^stone to the late chief, Ihaka Whaanga, re-erected at NuhaKu, was unveiled to-day \ by Judge Jone*. .The. following resolution was passed : —
"This gathering of Maori people, to d<» honor to the memory of the dead chief, ' here, beside his tomb, aflirm their devotion to the Empire he loved and fought for, pledge .theji* utmost resource an its service and defence, and express their earnest desh'e that there be no cessation of the struggle until the once-sacred principles pf justice and humanity are firmly re-estab-lished." ■
