"HUMPTY DUMPTY " PANTOMIME.
The pantomime season, which commences here at the Opera House tonight, under the direction of George Stephenson and Alf. Linley, promises something exceptional in "the matter of scenery. Mr Harry Whaite, Australia's foremost scenic artist, lias turned out some striking scenes. The most notable ones are "The Palace of King Dazzlum," "Widow Buttercup's Farm, "The Bazaar at Dumpty Town," and the gorgeous transformation in six scenes, "Dreamland." A host of other attractions : are promised, including a specialty by Lenuon Hyman and Lennon, entitled "Fun in" a Restaurant" and "The Egg," "Can Can," and "Tango" ballets by a large "corps de ballet," introduced by Miss Ethel Clifford, of Australia. "The company left a splendid impression when they played here this time last year, and since then it has been vastly improved* being bigger, brighter, and much stronger in every way. "The March of the Allies," which is a special feature, has made a decided hit throughout tne Dominion The costumes, of the various nations are very striking, and stir the , patriotic feeling/ "Humpty Dumpty" can only be played to-night and Monday, as on Tuesday, the last night, of the season, 1 "The Jam of Cathay" will be produced. This bright musical extravaganza has been running a close race for popularity with "Humpty Dumpty" throughout the Dominion.- A big demand for seats has already taken place at Ferguson's fruit store.
