Wassetti, a criminal who had served part of a life sentence for murdering his sweetheart, was pardoned and returned to his home at Rovato, but his relatives refusing him shelter, owing to his violent temper, Majjsetti set firo to the homestead, and killed his father, brother, and another relative, and two women and a child, and then took refuge m the woods.
