The attendance was fair, and the racing excellent. Results : — SUMMER HANDICAP.— RockweII, CIO, 1; Boscastlo. 8.9, 2; St. Rosaleer, 7.8, 3. All started. Won by half a head. SHORTS HANDICAP.— AIexis, 7.13, 1; Clementine, 7.13. 2; Ard Reigh, 7.9, 8. Lupulite, Replete, and Lynors were scratched. ,Won by a length. Ti.iU-a.KU HANDICAP.— ProbabIe, 8.6, 1; Ivanoff, 8.9, 2; Heroism, 6.12, 3. Also etarted: Libyan 7.7, Won easily by a length and a-quarter. PKfiSIDENTS WELTER.— Hilarity. 8.7, 1; Hoeebloom, 9.3, 2; Grosvenor, 8.12, 3. Grand Stand was scratched. Won by half a length. TROT.— lmperial Girl 1, Luhiette 2, Nellie 3. 3. Cleopatra, Bellora, and Lady Mambrino were scratched. Won by a head. HACK RACE.— Spinning Flight 1. Master Leslie 2, Zioneaj 3. Beckwell was scratched. The South Canterbury Jockey Club's spring meeting was concluded to-day in fine weather and in tho presence of a. . large attendance. Tho racing was full of interest, and some close finishes were witnessed. After the 'Stewards' Welter Handicap protests were lodged by the owner of Sam Weller ag&in&t Monkey Puzzle and Cathron on the ground of inconsistent running, but after consideration they were dismissed. Grand Stand led for a furlong, when Replete took up the running, and stowed the way to the straight. Hilarity then joined in, ftiid won by a head after a desperate finish, Zetland being two two lengths away. Time, lmin 1 4-ssec.
