A SALVATIONIST SECESSION.
MR DOWIE MAKES NOTABLE CONVERTS. NEW YORK, January 15. Commissioner and Mrs Booth-Clib-boru, the son-in-law and daughter of General Booth, liaving avowed their belief in faith-healing, have resigned their positions as officers of the Salvation Army and joined the movement headed by Dr Dowie, of Zion Church, Zion City, near Chicago, "U.S.A.
[Mrs Booth-Clibborn is the eldest daughter of General Booth, and under the name of "La Marechale " she started the Balvafcion Army movment in France and Switzerland, subsequently marrying Mr Arthur Clibborn, a descendant of an Irish-Quaker family, when, in accordance with Salvation Army custom, they took the name of BoothClibborn. Until recently the BoothClibborns were in charge of the Salvation Army's work 111 Holland. This second defection from the ranks of the Army on the part of members of his family (the second son, Baliington, having started a movement of his own in the United States) will be a severe shock to General Booth.]
