LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Tuesday, April 13, 1858.
Present— The Speaker and 12 members. Mr. Blackiston moved a reply to his Excellency's opening address. After much discussion the reply was adopted. The Attorney- General moved for leave to bring in " a Bill to declare the laws of England, so far as applicable to the circumstances of the Colony, to have been in force therein on and after the 14th day of January 1840." Also " a Bill for the Naturalization of certain persons in New Zealand." Leave granted. The Council adjourned till Thursday.
