WEST OXFORD SCHOOL TREAT.

To the Editor of "She Observer.' Sir, I have read with a great deal of interest the letters of Tom Sayers, Heenan, and Co*. stant Helper" Re the subject with which this letter is headed, ami feel quite elated at what I beheve to be the beginning of a belter state of Scholastic matters at West Oxford, J have an intimate knowledge of how these matters have been managed for some years at the above School and therefore tend* r my hearty thanks to the brave individual whoever he may be who has so far began to break up the Clique and m doing so has had the pluck to beard the Lion m his den. If Sayers knew what lie was talking about he would not say all the prizes were threepenny ones as some of the Scholars year after year got two if not more very expensive ones and if it was not naughty I could tell m what part of West Oxford they lived m, but 1 think they do not go to the School now so pei baps that is the reason of some people holding back. True there were some Scholars got threepenny prizes and for a change the following year got nothing although the Inspector passed them into a higher Standard, but of course the Committee know a great deal better than the Inspector, but perhaps now that abomination Viz cumulative voting is done away with, so that even Ladies will only have one 1 vote there will be a change m the personile ol the Committee and if so I sincerely hope the new arrival will be the Chairman when perhaps the good old custom of a treat and prizes according to merit will be obtained. Yours &c, J. L. Sullivan. Not Apple Pitcher.
