BARRYTOWN 'S RYALL
BORN and bred at Barrytown, some twenty miles from Greymouth, where m early days the rattle of the miner's pick and the creak of the gold-saving cradle was heard as acres of country were turned over m search of yellow metal, John Ryall has lived there all his life,, and he is heading for the three J score peg. Full of pep and of optimistic temperament,. Ryall is a farmer, but he gives a good deal of his time to local bodies, and serves th c district well 'on the Grey County Council (where his father sat for - years before him) and on the Westland Land Board, as well as taking the lead m all movements which will help along Barrytown or the people who reside m the little seaside hamlet. ■ As a judge of horseflesh, John knows enough to back horses that return divvies when he is on the racecourse, tor racing is his hobby. _
