HAVANA BAND.

Ralton's Organisation m Wellington. Bert Ralton, and his "Havana Band," direct from the Savoy Hotel, London, head a company of super-vaudeville (by arrangement with J. C. Williamson, Ltd.), which is to open m the Grand Opera House, ' Wellington, on Monday next. This band is one of the world's most popular "jazz" organisations, and there are' few homes that have not a number of "Havana Band" records on the gramophone. The "Era," London, says: "The Savoy Havana Band," as on previous occasions at the Coliseum, took the audience by storm with its musical qualities and syncopated melodies, B. L. Ralton, ever smiling, versatile, playing, singing, dancing, whistling, captured all hearts and received an ovation both for himself and his wonderful band. Their repertoire is extensive and cheerful m its selection."

Another Loiid.oh. critic says: , "The Savoy Havana Band, untler the energetic leadership of Mr. B. L. Ralton, retains its position as the premier organisation of its kind at the present time. There are many copyists, of course, of this famous combination, but either the lesser beings m the world of modern dance music do not possess the same degree of ability, or they do not realise that the fatal barrier to top-notch success m a performance of this calibre is blatant discord. Mr. Ralton and his company are able to give, us discord so neatly put forth that it is not mere noise, and further, it is certainly both musical and finished as regards execution."
