Late rateß being readily odtained for snob, bat second rate quality is difficult to place. Quoations for prime milling velvet, 3a 9d to 3s lOd ; extra do, 3a lid ; medium, 3s 4d to 3s 7d ; best red wheat and Tuscan, 3s 6d to ts 8d ; medium, 3s 3d to 3s sd ; inferior, 2b 9i to 3s 2d (ex store, sacks weighed in, terms). Oats — There is no change to note, transactions are still on a limited scale. Holders sbow no inclination to quit at present value while at tbe nominal thera is no encouragement to justify buyers offering higher prices though there is ao impression that later on a much stroogsr demand ia bound to sit in. Quotations for prime milling, la lOd to Is lid ; best bright short feed, Is 9i to Is 9£i ; medium, Is 8i to la B£i ; inferior la 5d to la 7d (ex store, sacks extra, net). Barley— S.ocks heavy and no demand. Quotations nominal, say for prime malting, 3a 3d to 3s 6d ; medium, 2s 6i to 2* 9d ; feed, 2a to 2s 3d (ex store, sacks extra, net). Grass Seeds — The market is still inactive. Best machinedressed ryegrasa seed is held for 3s 3d to 3a 6d ; extra prime, 3a 91 to 4?, Cocksfoot, best dressed, 4|d to 5d ; medium, 4d to 4^d ; inferior, 31 to 3| i per lb. Potatoes— alarket quiet. Best derwents are fetching L 2 15b to L 2 17s 6d ; extra prime, 33 ; medium, L 2 7a 6i to L 2 15s (ex store, sacks weighed in, net). Chaff — The supply ia feufficient for the demand, best fetching L 2 15s to L 2 17s 6d ; medium, L2ssto L 2 10d ; inferior, LI 7s 6 1 to L 2 per ton (ex truck, sacka returned, net), Sheepskins — A good demand exists for these, late rates being fully maintained. Best green crosabreds are fetching 3a 3d to 3s 61 ; extra heavy, 3a 9d ; medium, 2a 8i to 3s ; beet dry do, 4£d to s^l ; medium, 3d to 4d ; best do merino, 4d to 4£d ; medium, 2d to 3^d per lb. Potatoes— We quote : Oboice Oanterbnry, 60a ; Oamaru, 62a 61 to 65a ; Blenheim, 67s 6d to 58a 6d per ton. Chaff— Market easier. We quote: Prime bright heavy, 67s 63 to 70i ; medium to good, 60a to 65s per ton. Grass Setd — Cocksfoot, prime bright heavy dressed,, 3£i to 3|d ; ordinary to good, 3d to 3^d|per lb. Byegrass : Prime bright machine dressed, 4a 31 to 4s 6d ; medium to good, 3i 6d to 4a; farmers' parcels, 3a to 3a 3d per bushel. Cheese— We quote, choice brands (medium size), 4£d ; loaf, 4£d to 4|d ; good factory, 3jd to 4d ; dairy, 3£d to 3|d per lb. Batter — In good demand. We quote, prime sep«rator in roll (fresh) lid ; good, lOd to 10£ d ; ordinary, 9£d ; prime salt, 6£ to 7^d ; prime dairy, 9d ; ordinary, 7i to 8d per 10. Eggs— We quott, fresh, Is 4d tolsSd; limed, Is to Is Id per dozen.

Poultry— We quote, fowls, 2s 6i ; ducks, 3« to 3i 6d ; geese, 4s to 4s 6d ; tnrkeys, 7a to 8s per pair. Hams and Bacon— Factory-cured hams, 7d ; bacon, s£d ; best farmers' ' Cured hams, 6d ; bicon, 4|d to 5d per lb. Rabbitskint — Good demand. Bxtra prime well-saved winter skim, 8d to B£d , autumn, 5d per lb. Sheepskins — Weiquote for best current month's batcher skins, 4a to 4s 6d per skin ; medium to good, 3s to 3s 9d (for extra choice Unas we bave realised up to 5s 3d) ; country crossbred madium to fine quality well-saved pelts, 6£d (extra choice lines, s|d) ; ordinary well-saved pelts, 4jd to 6i ; fair to medium, 3JJ to 4|d ; best country merinos, 5d to s£d ; ordinary to good, 4d to 4|i per lb. Hides— ln good demand Extra heavy ox hides well flayed, 18s to 20a ; plump heavy, 16s to 17s 6d ; medium, 10s to 14s ; cow hides, extra heavy, 8a to 9a 6d ; medium, 7* to 7s 6d. For badly flayed and slippy hides proportionate rates are obtainable. Tallow— Well rendered mutton in c»ske, 17a to 18 1 ; in tins, 15s to 16s ; rough fat, 12s per cwt.
