Dr. O'Callaghan officiating. Miss "Price, eldest daughter of Mr. Alfred Price, . jronfounder, was married to Mr. W. M. Slattery, of Lower Hutt, Wellington, and •Miss Ethel Price to Mr. F. W. Harris, 'manager of the local branch of the Bank of New South Wales, and son of Mr. John MarHs, timber merchant,. Westport. Miss price wore a stylish cream serge costume, frith corded silk* vest, and Miss Rita Price, •as bridesmaid, a dainty frock of white voile, profusely shirred with rows of bebe ribbon. Mr. George Price, jun., cousin of the bride, officiated as best man. Miss Ethel Price, the younger bride, was dressed in a graceful cream silk voile gown, with deep yoke of Maltese silk lace, and Miss Elfrida Price, as bridesmaid, wore a pretty white voile dress, with deep Paris net yoke. The bridegroom was attended by the bride's brother, Mr. W. Price, as best man. A theatrical wedding took place near Christckurch on Tuesday, when Miss Maud Jeffries, leading lady with Mr. Julius Knight's Company, now playing here, was married to Mr. Osborne, a member of the same compaiiiv. The wedding was an exceedingly quiet one. It took place at the parish church at Papanni, some three miles from town, and, apart from, the bride and .bridegroom, the only persons present were ,Mr. Norman Jeffries, brother of the bride, who gave her away, and a lady friend. Miss Jeffries appeared 'the same evening in the character of Donna Roma, in the first presentation here of the " The Eternal City,' but very few in the audience knew that she had been married during the day, and consequently there was no such demonstration! of welcome as would have been accorded to her had the news been public property. In the wedding notice she is described as the onlv daughter ,of Jas..Kenilworth Jeffries, of Willow Farm, Mississippi. Mr. Osborne is one of the sons of the late Mr. P. H. Osborne, of Curraudoorey, New South Wales. The family own several stations, and Miss Jeffries' husband, it is said, will : some day have a very large private income.
