Thifl saving of Is on every parcel is due to the Customs having waived the duty, and also to the War Office having undertaken. to doliver these shipfree to tlio soldiers. By making the contributions in ■way the donor gets more for his mqney and the soldier ever so much more for his pipe. Each packet goes as a personal gift,. The name a nd address of tho donor are attached to every packet he or she sends. Further, donors can, if they wish, select liny soldier of fiiilor as the recipient of their pickets. A £5 note will make 200 niffi -*t the front happy for a week, and smoking is the only pleasure they got. It is stated that the best plan is to keep on making at least one "Tommy" happy by sending him oiifj more packets a week until the end of tho war. /These funds have been in operation at Home for some time.
