A Press Association wire from Christchurch says that Oripps and Jim Griffin will meet in Christchurch on 24th August for tho light heavyweight championship of Australia. The Wanganui district mooting of Oddfellows, held at Feilding yesterday, adopted a motion permitting women to become members of the Lodges,-— Press Association wire. Tho City Council last night resolved, by five votes to four, that a light fence be erected along the St. Vincent-street ditch, and also along the ditch in Vanguard-street from the Hardy-street corner to the old Anchor Boot Factory.
