THE LATE MR MOODY.

A PIONEER MINER,

The late Mr T. P. Moody, whose, death was recorded yesterday, was born at Killingworth, Westmore, in Northumberland, on April 14, 1841. He served his apprenticeship at Cyfarthfa, Mertbyr Tydvil, in South Wales, under his father, Mr John Moody, who was managing extensive coal fields belonging to the Crawßhay family. In the year 1864 he arrived in New Zealand where, with his uncle, Mr R. W. Moody, he started an engineering business in Wellesley street, Auckland.
