London "Justice" of November 12 says: "It is officially stated that the numbers of war prisoners in Germany on November 1 were as (follows: French, 3,138 officers, 188,618 men; Russian 3,121 officers, 186,779 men; Belgian, 537 officers, 34,207 nien; British, 417 officers, 15,730 men. These figures make a total of 432,547. They do not include the prisoners then on their way to Germany." Meat can bo bought in England at twopence a pound cheaper than in Melbourne.
