Athletic Club Notes
Fire At Kimbolton
(Own Correspondent.)
Feilding, Last Night. The Feilding Athletic Club held their annual meeting last evening in the Council Chambers. There were present a large number of rnejabers, Mr F. Worsfold presiding. Mr U. Shannon was elected a life member. The balancesheet showed a credit of £10 5s 2d, which is most satisfactory considering the vast expenditure during the past season (particulars already published in the Manawatu Times.) The following officers were elected: President, Mr F. Lethbridge, M.H.R.,; committee, Messrs F. Worsfold, D. Entwistle, J. Wilson, M. Belfit, G. Short, D. Pryde, W. E. Chamberlain, E. Sporle, and H. Woolven ; programme committee, J. Wilson, B>. Whisker, J. Trewin, F. Worsfold, W. Reid, M. Belfit, W. E. Chamberlain; treasurer, D. Haswell; secretary, E l. H. Fisher."
The Kimbolton Hotel narrowly escaped destruction by fire at 1 o'clock this morning. A small building at the rear of the premises was noticed to be on fire, but willing helpers were soon on the scene and succeeded in subduing the outbreak.
The Feilding Athletic Club is again on the alert, and intends to maintain its antagonistic stand taken against the Caledonian Mushroom Association last season. Upwards of seventy clubs have decided to throw in their lot with the Feilding Club.
