Railway " Facilities."

Some time ago the people of Palmersfcon and Foxton asked the Railway Department to make certain arrangements to facilitate intercommunication between the two places, principally with a view to enabling Palmerston people to do business at Foxton and return the same day. The Eailway Department, as is its wout, and, apparently as usual, preferring its own convenience to that of the public, has arranged a timetable improving the opportunities of Foxton people to come to Palmerston, but—with the exception or Mondays—making it just as inconvenient for Palmerston people to get to and from Foxton as it was before. In order to show how wretchedly the whole thing has been bungled by the Minister of Railways, in collaboration with Mr W. T. Wood, M.H.8., we append the following tables :— What Was Wanted. Leave Foxton. Leave Palmerston. A.MP.M. A.M. P.M. About the computer-generated text

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a process for automatically extracting text from scanned pages. OCR enables searching of large quantities of full-text data, but it is not 100% accurate. The level of accuracy depends on the print quality of the original newspaper and its condition at the time of microfilming. Newspapers with poor quality paper, small print, mixed fonts, multiple column layouts or damaged pages may have poor OCR accuracy.

The page where this item appears has an estimated OCR accuracy of 97.56%.
