HOCKEY.
Horowhenua v. Old Boys.
This match, which was played yesterda.C, resulted in a victory for Horowhenua by 2 to nil. Old Boys never looked like winning, for the visitors played with plenty of dash and combination, and, except for some spasmodic rushes by the yellows, were always on top. The local players were out of form, and were unable to cope with the fast country forwards. Horowhenua, who will play in the senior competition next season, are already reaching out for the shield. Wilson and Hitchings scored for the winners. Mr F. H. Burbush made an excellent referee.
