WINTER SHOW.

Splendid Machinery Entries. A meeting of the Winter Show subcommittee was held on Saturday after-' noon to receive entries of machinery exhibits, which closed on that day. Twenty-three firms entered,"the exhibitors being Messrs J. B. McEwan, Jas. J. Niven and Co., Fresh Food and ■ Ice Company, Joseph Nathan and Co., N.Z. Loan Co., Mason, Struthers, and Co., TLF.C.A., Barraud and Abraham, J. Nash and Co., E. W. Mills and Co., Permain and . Gilchrist, Manson and Barr, Holben and Kirk. Newton King, N. Andrew, A. F. Martin, H. E. Leighton, Beattie, Lang, and Co., C. Dahl, Reid and Gray. . Specialties will be shown by Tolley and Co. and Haughton and Sons," and vehicles by J. Bett, J. King, James Coy, and Massey, Harris CoThe firms of Niven and McEwan will each show refrigerators in full working order; and Nathan and Co., the F. P. and Ice Co., the Loan Co., and Mason Struthers will exhibit machinery in motion, obtaining power from the main shaft. Other firms will also have gasoline and "oil engines working, and will make interesting displays therewith, which should furnish attractions for all classes of visitors. The specialities entered are of various descriptions, but particularly embracing horticulture and poultry requisites. Altogether the entries are entirely satisfactory in number and description. The whole of the space available will be requisitoned, and there are evidences that from an exhibition point of view the show will be successful beyond the most sanguine expectations of the promoters. Positions for the various exhibits were allotted by the committee during the meeting.
