Dr Jane Wathersfcone, the noted Cape philanthropist, who has been appointed a member of Mr Brodrick's Concentration Camp Investigation Committee, declares that the nation's first care ought to be her soldiers, then British refugees and prisoners, then Boer refugees. Four Vryburg rebels have been sentenced to ten years' penal servitude. The casualties in connection with the capture of a train by Boers ncr Beaufort West were chiefly amongst the Yeomanry and the South African Light Horse. Private lies, a West Australian, was killed at Jamersfontein. Berlin, July 25. The German Central Pro-Boer Committee has sent three hundred thousand marks (about £15,000) to Mr Kruger for the Boer women and children. Brisbane, July 25. In reply to the Premier's icquiries with reference to sending further troops co South Africa, the Imperial authorities have cabled that they are willing to accept returned troops who have recovered, but that no others are eligible.
