GORE FARMERS' CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual mooting, held on Saturday, was attended by Messrs J. Falconer (chairman), Syme, Aitken, Woir, Monngban, W. Hall, B. Dickson, W. Henderson, E. Smith, and Jj. Coutts (secretary). Mr J. D. llitchie, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, wrote explaining the -position occupied by Government veterinary surgeons, and said it was impossible for the Government to appoint Mr Eeah as veterinary surgeon for the Gore district, as, if this request were acceded it, it would mean the appointment of such an officer in each district of the colony, thereby interfering with private practitioners. — The letter was received, and it was resolved to renew the application at some future date. The balance-sheet showed receipts during the year to have been £6 12s Cd (53 members at 2s Od each) balance from last year £4 11s lOd ; expenditure £10 ss ; credit balance l'Js 4d. This was adopUd on the motion of Messrs Henderson and Dickson. A vote of thanks was accorded the outgoing president, secretary aud committee. The following officers were then elected :—President, Mr J. Falconer ; vice : preside>!t, Mr W. Hall; chairman, Mr 11.' Dickson; vicechairman, Mr A. Weir; secretary, Mr W. Henderson ; treasurer, Mr L. Coutts ; committee, Messrs Mouayhan, Smith, Syme, Ailken, Bowmar, Davidson, J. Marshall, A. Dickson; jun., A. Keir, W. Park, A. Cruickshanks,. and N. S. Kinydon, with power tc add. It was resolved to meet in future at 2 o'clock in place of 2.30 p.m., aud it was decided not to hold the auuual dinner this year, as' the date for the function had passed. The meeting thereafter adjourned.
