MOTHER GOOSE PANTOMINE

♦ OPERA HOUSE— TO T NIGHT. To-nig-ht King Pantomime will hold sway at the Opera House, when Stanley McKay and Co. will present for the first time on the West Coast the record-breaking extravaganza, "Mother Goose," or the "Goose that laid the golden egg." Probably a number of Greymouth residents saw "Mother Goose" when staged in New Zealand some seven or eight , years ago, and will remember the huge success it attained. The present version, as is necessary in an up-to-date production, contains all the very latest songs,- dances, and gags, a«<l as a laugh-producer will be found hard to equal. Great care has been, exercised in the selection of the company, the principals being all artists with either big Australian or English re.putations, and are supported by an excellent chorus, ballet and orchestra. A feature of the production^ is the number of clever specialty Turns introduced, which include trick cyclists, toe dancers, and musical comedy acrobats. These latter artists, the Fredo Brothers, have an act which is hard to describe in print— it has to be seen to be properly appreciated. *ey do all sorts of wonderful things wMle playing their violins, even somersaulting through the air, l*^t)ing perfect time and tune. The acrobatic work of Mr James Gerald, J as Mother Goose, and the singing of Mr Will Rayner as Old King Cole, are two big factors- in the success of the pantomime. In their particular lines, no better artists have ever been seen in the Dominion. Miss Essie Jennings is the dashing ' principal boy, who falls in love with Little Red Riding Love (Miss Rosie Coleraan). Other characters of prominence are the Wicked Wolf (Mr R. Dunbar), Johnny. Stout (Miss Carmen Coleman), and the Good Fairy (Miss Annie Lillilund). The. part of' the Goose that laid the golden egg, is in the capable hands of Mr Will Speed, whose antics as the famous bird are productive of uproarious laughter from young and old.. The scenery is all new and by leading- Sydney artists, and amongst it is a very fine transformation scene. 'Mother Goose" is billed for two nights only, Friday and Saturday. The box plan is at The Bristol, and as a bumper house is certain and no | extra charge is made for insuring your seats in either dress circle or front stalls, patrons will do well to reserve their seats early. On Monday evening- the first change will be made, when the successful "Mother Hubbard" Pantomime will be * produced. On Tuesday, the last night of the season, the up-to-date version of "Little Bo Peep" will be the farewell Performance of the season.
