OUTSIDER PREVAILS

BOGSKAR'S NEAR RECORD

Liverpool, today, was jwon by the seven-year-old Bogskar, who triumphed after a splendid race throughout. Macmoffat, who was runner-up to Workman last year, again had to be content with a similar placing, and Gold Arrow was third.

Bogskar was! regarded as one of the best outsiders, and he came on strongly ;in the closing stages to win without serious opposition. The time, 9min 20 3-ssec, was only l-ssec outside Golden Miller's 1934 record.

Royal Danieli, who started favourite, ran a great race, leading practically throughout from Macmoffat until he fell two fences from home. Kilstar, the second favourite, finished well back. The following is the result:—. GRAND NATIONAL STEEPLECHASE, £5000, including: trophy valued at £200; second horse £500. and third £250; for six-year-olds and upwards; about 4 miles and 855 yards.
