GOERING'S LIFE

REPORTED ATTEMPT

WOUNDED IN LEFT ARM

(Received July 17, 9 A.m.)

LONDON, July 16.

Unofficial reports received in London say that Marshal Gtaering was wounded in the left aim when an attempt was made on his life in Berlin early on the morning of July 12.

The reports are denied in Berlin, and also at the Embassy in London, but they persist in Warsaw and Paris. The first news of the attempted assassination was received in Warsaw from a deserter from the German Army. He alleged that there is open hostility between Marshal Goering and Dr. Goebbels regarding Danzig.

About the computer-generated text

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a process for automatically extracting text from scanned pages. OCR enables searching of large quantities of full-text data, but it is not 100% accurate. The level of accuracy depends on the print quality of the original newspaper and its condition at the time of microfilming. Newspapers with poor quality paper, small print, mixed fonts, multiple column layouts or damaged pages may have poor OCR accuracy.

The page where this item appears has an estimated OCR accuracy of 98.43%.
