BISHOP WELCOMED
WAIRARAPA RECEPTION

MASTERTON, This Day.
The parishioners of the Wlirarapa assembled in lull force in St. Matthew's Parish Hall last night to extend a welcome to the recently-appointed Bishop of Wellington, the Rt. Rev. H. S|. B. Holland, and Mrs. Holland, The yen. Archdeacon \V. Bullock, Archdeacon of the Wairarapa, presided over the gathering, which was fully representative of the whole district. Speeches of welcome were addressed to the Bishop and Mrs. Holland by Archdeacon Bullock, by Mr. J. Ninnes, People's Warden of St. Matthew's Parish, and by the Rev. J. Dayie, on behalf of the Ministers' Association.
Bishop Holland made an appreciative reply, saying that he was anxious to give his best service to the Church and the diocese. His' heart went out in full sympathy, understanding, and appreciation to those who were carrying on the work of the Church here, often under great difficulties as regarded finances.
