MRS. E. T. PORTER ENTERTAINS

. A thoroughly delightful party was given for Miss Erna Porter by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. T. Porter, at their home in Bolton Street recently. Softlyshaded lamps and cheerful fires made the lounge end drawing-room look cosy and inviting. Spring flowers and bowls of violets, primroses and mignonette on small tables looked lovely against the green and gold colouring of these rooms. From a "sitting-out" alcove off the drawing-room,the guests enjoyed a splendid view of the harbour and city lights. The guests gathered round the piano for_ singing and music or danced in the ballroom downstairs, which was very festive with flowers and streamers.

Supper was set on the table in the dining-room. Here again the colour scheme wjs green and gold, and a gold-coloured linen tablecloth and a large green crystal bowl of marigolds in the centre made a pleasing picture. Mrs. and Miss Porter received the Quests in the lounge, Mrs. Porter wearing a tunic frock of silver grey silk, and figured pink and grey lame. Miss Porter wore peacock blue crepe with silver sequined shoulder straps, and a spray of carnations.
