■ :;/("Received February 6, 2-p:m.) / •,■...-■■■■■ '£Z. LONDON, February 5. The death is announced of Admira* Sir George Patey,, at the age of 75.

Admiral Patey, who entered the Navy in 1872, served as midshipman in the Shah in the engagement between that ship and the Peruvian turret ship Huascar arid afterwards in the Zulu War in 1879. He was commander of H.M.S. Barfleur in. the Mediterranean during the Cretan insurrection.: After other commands, mainly in' the Mediterranean, he ' was appointed. Com-mander-in-Chief of the Australian Fleet in 1913. He was on the North American and West Indian Station during the war. • . ' ."■■".'
