A new Australian station, -HJK, Kockhamptonj was officially opejicd last evening. This is one of the series of relay stations being established by. the Australian. Broadcasting Company, of which 2NO, Newcastle was the pioneer. 4BK is rated'at 2 kilowatts, and camo iv here very strongly. Unfortunately, its wavelength is' so close to that of IYA, Auckland that it was impossible to hear more than brief snatches of its transmission tili'Auckland closed down, and from the point of view of New Zealanders, an adjustment is. required. Mr. K. Thow, who went from Wellington, to supervise the erection of the relay stations, is' now at work on another near Port Pirie, South Australia.
