WELLINGTON NOMINEE . ANNOUNCED.

Mr. Jules Omer John Malfroy, LL.il., has been selected as the nominee of Victoria University College for the Rhodes Scholarship of 1925. Mr. Malfroy is best known to the public of Wellington as a Rugby footballer. Although only 23 year 3of age he has played for Wellington in one or other of its representative teams for five, seasons. In tho same period he has played for tho Victoria College team, and m 1923 and again this year he gained his "blue," as a member of the ,New Zealand University team. He has also _ representod his college _in athletics, in which department he is one of the best hurdlers in the province. The elder son of Mr. C. M. Malfroy, of the Stato Forest Service, Mr. Jules Malfroy was born at Hokitika, passed through primary schools and high schools in that town, and then went for four-years to Waitaki Boys' High School, where he matriculated and became a prefect. Passing on to Canterbury University Collego, he began the study of law, and two years later camo to Wellington. At Vitcoria College ho gained his LL.B., being caped last year, and went on to study, successfully, for the Master of Laws degree. This* year Mr. Malfroy was awarded tho Jacob Joseph Scholarship for law research. Mr. Malfroy,' who is_ an executive officbr of «ereral Victoria College institutions, is with the firm, of Messrs. Bell, Gully, MacKonzie, and O'Leary.
